Nevis Range team up with Endura

Over the past decade the growth in mountain biking internationally has been huge and it’s no surprise that this has been matched in Scotland! The sport has come a long way since the very first Mountain Bike World Cup graced the Nevis Range in the Scottish Highlands back in 2002. Bikes have developed, riders have got faster, venues have expanded and integral partnerships have been formed.

The Nevis Range Mountain Experience, Fort William, home to the multi-award winning UK round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup, are delighted to announce that Endura, the global market leader in cycle apparel, has today (05-03-19) become the company’s official Mountain Bike Clothing and Protection partner for 2019.

Endura and Nevis Range are both passionate about the development of home-grown cycling talent and this strong synergy will be at the core of their partnership.  In 2019 Nevis Range will continue to support local mountain bike rider Mikayla Parton as she makes the step up into Elite Downhill racing, where she will take on her first UCI World Cup races, some National Downhill races and a number of select Enduro races across the country. Endura will provide full race kit for Mikayla and a number of Nevis Range Development Team riders, as Nevis Range seek to grow their pro race team over the next few years.

Nikki Stafford, Marketing Manager at Nevis Range Mountain Experience, said: “We are incredibly excited to be working with Endura this year.  They are a home-grown brand who have a fantastic passion for the industry, as we do, the perfect collaboration. Throughout the partnership we will continue to grow promising talent and encourage more people to get involved with the sport regardless of ability or age.”

Today’s announcement is a welcome addition to Nevis Range’s 2018/19 partnership with Trek, who, like Endura, are supporting a number of talented young local riders in their quest to become pro downhill racers.

Like Trek, Endura will invest in content creation enabling impactful promotional activity aimed at a truly international audience. They will also be investing in trail signage and advertising at the venue, whilst providing branded clothing for both the Nevis Range Event and Bike Track Teams.

Ian Young, Brand Manager at Endura, said: “Nevis Range is an iconic Scottish venue with a strong global reputation making this a perfect partnership for Endura. The enthusiasm of the Nevis Range team to continually improve the infrastructure for riders of all levels, grow the events at the venue and encourage young talent is really exciting and we are delighted to be partnering with them for the coming season.”

Over the next year Nevis Range will work closely with both Endura and Trek, unveiling a number of initiatives including new events designed to encourage and develop Mountain Biking at all levels at the venue, whilst transforming the reach of the home of the Fort William Mountain Bike World Cup into a globally recognised mountain bike destination.

The potent, self-confident collaborations with both Endura and Trek further cement both Scotland’s status as a centre of excellence in mountain biking and Nevis Range’s reputation as a world leading mountain bike downhill and cross-country trail centre and international event venue.
