Lochaber Tourism Summit 2019, a must-attend event for Highland tourism businesses

Tourism businesses in Lochaber and throughout the Highlands are being urged not to miss the Lochaber Tourism Summit at the Kingshouse Hotel, Glencoe on Thursday 21st November; a highlight of Lochaber Ideas Week, a week of inspiring business events created specifically for the local business community by Lochaber Chamber of Commerce.

Frazer Coupland, CEO of Lochaber Chamber of Commerce, said: “The 2019 Tourism Summit is Lochaber’s premiere tourism business event.  In these uncertain times when tourism businesses across the region face increasingly tough challenges, attendees will gain essential insights to unlock the huge potential of their businesses in an ever-increasing digital world and to capitalise on every opportunity arising in 2020 and beyond. They will also hear first-hand about the cutting-edge vision for Scotland’s tourism industry, at both national and local levels.”

The 2019 Tourism Summit, sponsored by HWEnergy, keynote speakers Cat Leaver, Director of newly created Brand Scotland, and Stephen Leckie, the visionary CEO behind the hugely successful Crieff Hydro Family of Hotels and the Chair of The Scottish Tourism Alliance, will empower, inspire and inform delegates with innovative and progressive business and digital marketing strategies, partnership opportunities, industry visions and future trends and best practice.

With Fort William being a world-renowned mountain bike destination, Mike Dennison from Sustrans will also be discussing the huge opportunities for cycle tourism in the region and how businesses can fully benefit.

The event is also about the importance of embracing digital marketing.  The fantastic homegrown social media influencer and pro mountain biker, Hannah Barnes, together with her partner, renowned content-creator Brodie Hood, will reveal the secrets to an effective social media strategy that will connect and engage with target visitors, together with the best content in which to showcase the region as a destination and its memorable and unique experiences.

Frazer Coupland added: “Our Tourism Summit is guaranteed to be an amazing day and all for just £30 including lunch!  Delegates will gain hugely valuable access to some of the industry’s big players that you’d normally expect to travel to the central belt for.  They will even have the opportunity to start the day off with a bit of yoga.”
