Emily Greaves, Head of Journeys (bikepacking adventures) at Comrie Croft, the popular mountain bike trail centre near Crieff, has been appointed as the new Clan Chief for Clans @ The Croft, the UK’s only team mountain bike enduro, being staged at Comrie Croft, Braincroft, Crieff, Perthshire, PH7 4JZ, on Saturday 25 October 2025.

In this role Emily Greaves has hit the ground running having just secured £7500 of funding from EventScotland’s National Events Funding Programme for the 2025 event. The funding is a huge boost to the staging of Clans @ The Croft. It will support a high-impact campaign to significantly expand the event’s reach, specifically to inspire female and young riders and those from outside Perth and Kinross to sign up. The funds will also enable the delivery of an evening Ceilidh for riders, their friends and families, spectators, volunteers and the local community; and enhance the videography of the event.
Rebecca Edser, Head of EventScotland, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Clans @ The Croft through our National Events Programme. This should help to bring visitors to Perthshire, encouraging economic growth and making sure the benefits brought to such events are felt in the local community. Events have a vital role in Scotland’s visitor economy and Clans @ The Croft is a fantastic addition to our events portfolio that helps to reinforce Scotland’s reputation as a leading tourism and events destination.”
Emily Greaves, the new Clans @ The Croft Event Director, said: “Having taken over Clans @ The Croft from Muckmedden Events, Comrie Croft want to fulfil Aaron Gray’s vision for this popular event. The EventScotland funding will enable Comrie Croft to achieve these goals and for Clans @ The Croft to thrive going forward.
“After the extremely positive feedback from its first outing in 2024 we want to ensure that Clans @ the Croft makes its mark as the ‘go to’ event to end the mountain bike event calendar every year. We are determined that the event continues to build, centred around community, inclusivity and fun. While the racing should be competitive, it’s just as important to remind the mountain bike community why we ride and race – for the love of the trails, the friendships, the family moments, and the joy of celebrating good times together on two wheels!”

Clans @ The Croft is the first Enduro in the UK where riding buddies can join forces as a Clan, a team of three. Every rider will be timed – five stages on the full course and three on the new Lite course – on a course packed with jumps, berms, roots, rock slabs, and race-only off-piste sections. There are categories for manual and ebikes and age categories from 12 to 99. Fancy dress is also very much encouraged for all riders taking part.

Aaron Gray from Muckmedden Events, who had the inspired idea for the race, and organised Clans @ The Croft for the first time in 2024, said: “Stoked by the success of the inaugural event, we agreed at a post-event debrief that Clans @ The Croft should be owned and run by Comrie Croft from 2025 onwards. I am confident that their multi-faceted team will ensure the event has a future and fulfils its potential. Clans @ The Croft is set to become one of the must-do events of the UK’s Enduro calendar for the foreseeable future. I’m looking forward to working closely with the team at Comrie Croft to help make that happen.”
The new organising team at Comrie Croft are strongly focused on strengthening Clans @ The Croft’s already burgeoning reputation as a leading Scottish mountain bike event at a premier mountain bike destination.

This process has already involved listening to rider and spectator feedback that highlighted the need to improve communication and signage to significantly enhance the event experience, ensuring spectators can easily access prime viewing spots, understand race progress, and fully engage with the event. It also means having achievable targets that include increasing rider registrations by 40% (262 in 2024) and female participation by 400% (29 in 2024), while doubling spectator attendance and building engagement with the local and mountain bike communities.
Emily Greaves added: “I took part in last year’s Clans @ The Croft in a family Clan with my husband and son and loved it. The positive vibes, for the whole day, were like nothing else. I am excited to be taking over the reins this year and very keen to do what I can to support and encourage more women to take part.”
Andrew Donaldson, CEO of Comrie Croft, said: “The beauty of Clans @ The Croft for me is not just the Mountain Bike Enduro racing, the camaraderie and the scenic day out, it’s the 2 for 1 deal! You get to be part of an individual enduro and a unique team enduro, all for the price of one! Get your entry in early as it’s likely to be a sell-out.”
