Summer Youth Hostel Returns to Glasgow

SYHA Hostelling Scotland will again be opening Glasgow Metro Youth Hostel this summer (from 24 June to 31 August 2016) in The Glasgow School of Art’s Margaret Macdonald House just minutes from Glasgow city centre.

Turning the student residence accommodation into a youth hostel over the summer months proved popular in 2015 with individuals, families, students and groups. The central location at Cowcaddens is in easy reach of Glasgow’s tourist attractions, cultural and music festivals and events, architecture, sports venues, shopping, restaurants and bars. Guests looking to stay in the West End also have the option of SYHA’s existing Glasgow Youth Hostel at the top of Kelvingrove Park, which is open all year round.

Margaret Macdonald House is registered as a 2 star Hostel with Visit Scotland. All 110 bedrooms are single and almost 50% of the rooms are ensuite. Prices start from £25pppn, with free wifi included.

SYHA Chief Executive Keith Legge said:

“Glasgow continues to establish its reputation as a great city to visit, famous for its world-class architecture, culture and friendly people. We are delighted to be able to offer our guests affordable accommodation at Glasgow Metro again this summer.”

SYHA also operates two other summer youth hostels: Edinburgh Metro open from 6 July to 30 August, just minutes from the Grassmarket, and Perth, open from 10 July to 27 August in the Perth College halls of residence.

Ends.
