The organisers of Clans @ The Croft, the first team event on the UK’s mountain bike (MTB) Enduro calendar, this year being staged at Comrie Croft on Saturday 25 October 2025, are hosting a free MTB Enduro coaching weekend for riders who have already entered the event and are keen to brush up on their technical riding skills ahead of the big day.  

The Clans @ The Croft coaching sessions, supported by Deviate Cycles and delivered by the Croft’s own Flow School coaches in partnership with Cycle Wild Scotland and Dirt Divas, will be held at Comrie Croft, the premier Scottish mountain bike trail centre near Crieff, Perthshire, on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September 2025, four weeks before the big event.

Following the Clans @ The Croft Coaching Day on Sunday 28 September 2025 at 18:00, Comrie Croft will host The Big Bike Film Night 2025, a 2.5-hour showcase of the best short cycling films from around the world, adrenaline-fuelled action, drama, and humour, unashamedly and utterly designed and devised to delight both the wheeled devotee and the armchair adventurer!  The Scotland Tour is supported by Deviate Cycles and Bark + Ride Sports.

The Clans @ The Croft coaching weekend is being split into two days.  On Saturday, 27 September, the coaching will be aimed at those riders taking on the Clans @ The Croft Full Course with its five challenging timed stages, and Sunday will be aimed at the less experienced or less competitive riders keen to take it a bit easier by taking on three timed stage Clans @ The Croft Lite Course.

FULL Course Coaching Day 

‘Natural Gold’, ‘Hairy Coo Black’ & ‘Sloppy Joes’ are the names of the Black graded trails on the full five-stage course. Steep committing descents, rocky terrain and tight turns, these trails are feature-packed. The coaching day will be spent looking at the individual features, race lines, body position and how to ride them. 

The full course coaching day is a collaboration with Jules Fincham and Chris Gibbs from Cycle Wild Scotland, who have close ties with Comrie Croft, as Emily Greaves, the Clans @ The Croft Event Director, is one of their mountain bike tutor team.  Chris Gibbs specialises in Gravity coaching, and Emily is especially excited to have him as part of the Full Course coaching day. Chris will also be racing at the event, leading a ‘Clan’ from Wolfpax Riders, a Mountain bike club for 7-18-year-olds in the Scottish Highlands, who he coaches.

LITE Course Coaching Day 

The Croft’s red trails are packed full of natural rock and root features. Steep descents, technical rock gardens and optional challenging climbs. Riders will be taught the skills and techniques to ride each feature smoothly and with confidence.

The Lite course coaching day is a collaboration with Dirt Divas. The Dirt Divas have hosted recent coaching events at Comrie Croft and Emily Greaves is also part of their guiding and coaching team.  The Dirt Divas are a collective of riders, guides, coaches, and mechanics, utilising our experience and knowledge to share the awesomeness of mountain biking and gravel riding with other women, non-binary, and trans individuals. They aim to inspire and educate, as well as provide opportunities for others. The Dirt Divas will have a Clan racing at the event.

Jules Fincham

• Trainer and Assessor for British Cycling MTB Leadership Awards
• Cycle Wild Scotland is now into its 20th successful year as the popularity of mountain biking continues to grow worldwide. The driving force behind the company is Jules Fincham.
• With his experience and lifelong passion for learning and coaching, Jules continues to be one of the top MTB coaches in the UK.  Known as the coaches’ coach, he loves his work as he passes on leadership, coaching and biking skills to new generations of bikers, year on year.

Chris Gibbs

• A one-time student and protege of Jules – he attended his first Cycle Wild Scotland course on a borrowed bike – Chris has become probably the best qualified MTB tutor in the UK. One of the busiest and hardest-working guides in the world, when he isn’t training and assessing MTB leaders, he is guiding clients and colleagues ON adventure trips in the high mountains across the globe, from Scotland to Slovenia, the High Atlas to the Himalayas.
