The Royal Scots Regimental Trust – from 2020 to present

Description

Media Relations for The Royal Scots Regimental Trust

The Royal Scots (The Royal Regiment) merged with other Scottish infantry regiments amidst army restructuring in 2006 and the Royal Scots Regimental Trust exists now to support former members of the Regiment and to maintain the memory of its 373 years of service to Crown and Country.

For five years Paddy Cuthbert has played a crucial role in the Trust’s media activity that aims to support and broaden public awareness of this heritage within our former recruiting area and beyond.

Paddy has worked with us on a wide range of events and kindly done so on a pro-bono basis: he has supported and enabled media activity for outreach projects by our award-winning Regimental Museum in Edinburgh Castle including large-scale exhibitions with third parties; he has promoted a range of commemorative and Remembrance activity around specific historical regimental events; he has led on human interest stories that connect with the wider public.

Regardless of the specific project, Paddy’s ability to refine and deliver our message has been vital. He has a knack for identifying the core elements and developing a compelling narrative, an ability to make our story relevant and appealing to a wide audience without losing its military identity. Importantly, he secures the coverage. Paddy’s professional insight, advice and PR reach have been instrumental in the success of our efforts to share our Regimental history.

In recognition of his outstanding, and entirely voluntary, contribution we were very pleased to award him our Regimental Prize in 2022, only the fourth time in our history this has been given to someone outside the Regimental family. We remain hugely grateful for Paddy’s insight, enthusiasm and ongoing commitment, he is a very valuable member of our team and a pleasure to work with.
